PURPOSE STATEMENT

Directions in Lung Cancer Therapy for Older Patients will discuss treatment regimens and management strategies for elderly patients with lung cancer, including current recommendations and clinical trial data that may affect the care of these patients.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Explain the variations in physiology in the elderly and comorbid conditions that may affect lung cancer therapy.
  • Describe current recommendations for treating elderly patients with lung cancer.
  • Discuss the results of trials investigating management strategies for the treatment of lung cancer in the elderly and how this information may be used to optimize the care of these patients.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Directions in Lung Cancer Therapy for Older Patients is intended for medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists and oncology nurses, as well as other healthcare professionals interested in the management of patients with lung cancer.
