PURPOSE STATEMENT
An Evidence-Based Approach to Managing ACS Patients for Optimal Care will discuss current ACS treatment guidelines and recent clinical trials, and evaluate the role of antithrombin and antiplatelet therapy in the management of STEMI and NSTE-ACS patients.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the current guideline recommendations for antithrombin and antiplatelet therapy for the adjunctive treatment of STEMI and NSTE-ACS.
- Summarize the results of the most recent trials of antithrombin and antiplatelet agents for use in the management of STEMI and NSTE-ACS patients.
- Incorporate recent trial results into an evidenced-based management plan for patients with STEMI or NSTE-ACS
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is intended for clinical and interventional cardiologists, as well as emergency medicine physicians and other healthcare professionals interested in the management of acute coronary syndromes.
