Selecting Chemotherapy Regimens and Managing Toxicities
PURPOSE STATEMENT
Advances in the Treatment of Metastatic Gastric Cancer will examine current and emerging therapies for gastric cancer, potential adverse effects associated with treatment regimens, and their potential impact on patient survival and quality of life.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the increasing incidence of certain types of gastric cancers.
- Identify the treatment-limiting toxicities of chemotherapy for metastatic gastric cancer.
- Recognize the role of supportive care in managing chemotherapy-induced toxicities.
- Discuss newer chemotherapeutic approaches to the treatment of metastatic gastric cancer.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Advances in the Treatment of Metastatic Gastric Cancer is intended for medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists and oncology nurses, as well as other healthcare professionals interested in the management of patients with gastric cancer.
