PURPOSE STATEMENT
This complimentary CME/CE program will discuss the impact of insomnia on patient functioning, including the presence of comorbid conditions, and will examine management strategies to improve patient quality of life.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Define insomnia and describe ways to identify patients in their practice who suffer from insomnia
- Discuss the effects of insomnia on patient functioning
- Describe the interrelationship of insomnia and comorbid medical and psychiatric disorders
- Describe and evaluate management options for insomnia, including new data from longer-term clinical trials
TARGET AUDIENCE
This enduring CME/CE series is intended for primary care physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and pharmacists, as well as for psychiatrists and other specialists and healthcare providers who are interested in the management of patients with insomnia.
